Kenmore is approximately 11km from Brisbane’s Central Business District and has benefited greatly from the Centenary Highway that gives it direct access to the City via Milton Road or Coronation Drive.

The suburb has a large number of parks and playing fields and this is further supported by it’s easy access to outdoor activities in surrounding suburbs, including the walking tracks and roads in Mt Coottha, botanical gardens and the Planetarium; boating ramps into the Brisbane River and horse riding facilities in Fig Tree Pocket and Brookfield.

The suburb offers a number of educational facilities including Kenmore State School and Kenmore State High School. The suburb provides a high standard of general amenity which includes two large retail centres, Kenmore village and Kenmore Plaza both located on Moggill Road.
