Woolloongabba is located 1 km from Brisbane's CBD and is classed as one of the most accessible suburbs within the inner city ring. The suburb is located immediately adjacent to the South Bank precinct which is Brisbanes premier cultural entertainment, lifestyle and recreation precinct. Within this precinct residents have access to the Brisbane convention centre, Queensland performing arts centre, the Queensland art gallery, the gallery of modern art, the state library and the Queensland Museum. As Brisbane's main entertainment precinct Southbank is also home to bars, restaurants and cinemas.
Within Woolloongabba itself is the Mater hospital precinct which is one of Queensland's largest health precincts. Just a 5 minute drive or bus ride is the princess Alexandra hospital.
The surrounding area is home to a number of educational facilities. Griffith university has an established Southbank campus and the Queensland University of Technology’s Gardens point campus is located on the edge of the CBD. Access to this campus and the CBD is made easier for pedestrians by the goodwill bridge, stretching across the Brisbane river at the border of Woolloongabba and Southbank.
Woolloongabba fortunately has direct access to Brisbane's public transport system through the Woolloongabba busway station which forms part of the Southeast Busway. From here, residents may travel to the CBD, University of Queensland and even Logan City with ease.
On top of all this Woolloongabba provides one of the best lifestyles possible. It is home to ‘the Gabba’ cricket and AFL grounds and also an abundance of restaurants and bars on top of what is already available in the Southbank precinct.
